The UI Center for Advancement was formed from the merging of the UI Alumni Association and the UI Foundation. The UI Center for Advancement draws on the expertise of alumni engagement and fundraising staff while investing in new staff and programs to serve all alumni and friends in the state and the region, across the country, and around the world.

A nonprofit IRC Sec. 501(c)(3) organization, the UI Center for Advancement is independent from the university. Located in the Levitt Center for University Advancement, the organization employs approximately 225 people and is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
