Sara and Kevin McAuley are both graduates of Iowa, Sara with a BBA in 1978 and Kevin with a BA in 1977. Sara’s parents, cousins, and many other relatives are also Iowa grads. Kev’s folks went to Drake, but we don’t hold that against them. Kevin was born in Ida Grove, Sara in Burlington and they met in the Chicago suburbs in high school.

The McAuleys have lived and worked in Chicago, Orlando, Hong Kong, New Jersey, and they now make their home in St James City. Kevin spent the majority of his career with Time Magazine. Sara and Kevin have one son, Ian, who is a diehard Hawkeye, even though he graduated from Wake Forest – in Computer Science. He and his fiancé have just moved to Dallas and will be married in Florida next year. Sara’s mom, Anna, is a member of the Paradise Club and lives in Bokeelia.

Sara’s business in management consulting focuses on Leadership Development and Executive Coaching. She spent 35 years in Human Resources, leading HR teams at Quaker Oats and Kraft, and as Head of Human Resources at Tupperware, AT&T Capital and Standard & Poor’s. She has worked with small and medium sized businesses to develop business strategies and serves as Lead Director on an Association Board.

Kevin and Sara love the peace and quiet on Pine Island and welcome any Hawkeyes who want to venture out for lunch or dinner at one of their favorite restaurants!
