Tippie 2018 Young Alum of the Year

The Tippie College of Businesses announced the winner of the 2018 Young Alum of the Year award, and it’s none other than our board Vice President, Shalini Hanoman Campbell, BBA 2004!  Shalini was presented with the Young Alum of the Year Award on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 during the Alumni Awards Luncheon in Chicago at the W Hotel – City Center.

Recipients of this award are nominated for their continued dedication to the Tippie College of Business. Their involvement may include such activities as assisting with recruitment or placement of students, support of the college’s programming, or service on advisory boards. The Young Alum of the Year recipients are selected with an additional criteria that they reach this level of achievement by the age of 40.

Campbell received the Young Alum of the Year recognition for the numerous ways in which she gives back to Tippie. The finance and management alumnus is a current member of the Tippie Finance Department Advisory Council and previously served on the School of Management Advisory Council for seven years. Campbell continues to return to campus to talk with students and also served as a panelist at the Tippie Women’s Summit in 2015. Through her position at BMO Capital Markets in Chicago, Campbell has advocated for the employment of Tippie graduates with the organization and has hosted student groups when they travel to the city. Campbell provides financial assistance to the college and encourages other to do the same.

Campbell is currently a director on the Leveraged Finance Sales and Trading Desk at BMO Capital Markets, working with various types of credit investors within the loan and high-yield asset classes.  After graduation from Tippie in 2004, Campbell joined BMO that same year as a member of the Relationship Development Manager program and has also spent time on the Food and Consumer, and Debt Capital Markets teams before becoming director.
