It has definitely been awhile since we last posted. So what’s been happening at the London Iowa Club since Covid lifted and life went back to “normal”… well as normal as rampant inflation, wars, and insane heatwaves can be.
We kicked off the year with our a drinks mixer with business school undergrads who were over for the Winter Study Abroad Program. It was a great event with a good group of alumni braving the early January cold to come to St. Paul’s and share their experiences as expats.
Although we had a quiet spring, we started summer with a trully steller event. Our first collaboration with Iowa Rowing for the Royal Regatta. Club Members got to spend the day with Coach Garbutt and meet Iowa Rowers. We can’t wait until next year when the team is over to officially race!!
Now that summer is over, we are getting back into our game watch routine. Hopefully the Hawkeyes improve on last year (although better play probably means worse game start times for us Brits).
Lastly in some other interesting sports news, Iowa’s Meg Gustafson has been picked up by the London Lions for next season. We look forward to organising a group to go see her play!!
