Learn more about Phil from media industry innovator Kathy Dore (72BA, 84MBA), the senior advisor of vision and strategy for consulting firm Proteus Inc. Dore previously served as president of broadcasting at Canwest Media and president of entertainment networks for Rainbow Media, overseeing cable networks AMC, IFC, WE, and Bravo. She currently chairs the board of the University of Iowa Center for Advancement and has given back to the UI’s Department of Communication Studies and the Henry B. Tippie College of Business.
Dore earned a Bachelor of Arts in speech communications from the University of Iowa in 1972, and a Masters of Business Administration from the UI Henry B. Tippie College of Business in 1984. She has served on the UI Alumni Association Board of Directors and the Board of Visitors for the Tippie College of Business. She received the UI Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni Award for Achievement in 1998, was named “Woman of the Year” in 2003 by Women in Cable Telecommunications, and has been among Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of “100 Most Powerful Women.”
