Greetings fellow Michiganders who love the University of Iowa!
We bleed black and gold, but somehow life led us away from the rolling hills of Grant Wood’s Iowa to the Great Lakes of Michigan where “maize” is neon yellow and John Deere green is not a farmer in overalls but a Roman Spartan.
The Iowa Club of Southeast Michigan is here to help you remember “Once a Hawkeye, Always a Hawkeye” and that real maize is golden yellow and turns to spun gold in autumn, just before the harvest and during the peak of football season. Ah, football….
We are planning a number of events and would love to meet you! Join us!
are planning the first game watch for the Saturday, Sept. 4th season opener, Iowa vs. Indiana, to be held at Aubree’s Pizzeria and Grill, 2122 Whittaker Road, Ypsilanti Township, time TBD.
